I have had the pleasure of working with The Soil Association since 2023. Starting off with a very meaningful project as part of their campaign ‘Stop Killing our Rivers’. We met 3 amazing people Angela, Nicola and Pat who’ve devoted their lives to saving the River Wye.

It was a bittersweet project, we captured some stunning natural beauty that surrounds the Wye while learning about the devastating impact of industrial chicken farming and what it is doing to the river. Where rivers were once alive with fish, many are now falling silent. All the chicken poo from the farms seeps into the soil, which seeps into the river, forming algae blooms and suffocating wildlife. As Nicola described it, it’s an “Invisible Killer.”

But it was absolutely amazing to hear how the film helped raise awareness- including getting the issue raised in parliament and coverage on ITV news, helping their appeal raise over £50,000. As well as recieving a People’s Choice Smiley Charity Film Award 2025!
